ECY brings FRD Furukawa hydraulic breakers to the UK

FRD Furukawa hydraulic breaker

ECY is delighted to announce that it is now a nationwide supplier for the full range of FRD Furukawa (FRD) rock breaker attachments.

FRD is very well respected in the UK, but, unfortunately, has not always been afforded the back-up and service which it deserves. This is set to change now that it has teamed up with ECY, the longest-established and most experienced breaker dealer in the UK, whose renowned support and service are widely recognised within the industry.

With more than a 130-year track record, FRD has a base of design experience which is second to none. The company manufactures all of its products in its own factories, using only the best materials and under the most stringent quality control. A policy of constant improvement has created a range of products of unsurpassed performance.

Richard Yarwood, managing director at ECY, comments: “It’s great that we’re now a nationwide dealer for these products. We pride ourselves on being able to offer our customers the very best in demolition equipment – and the FRD hydraulic breakers are definitely among them.

“When you couple an excellent product with low-maintenance, no breakdown time and excellent support – you’re definitely onto a winner.”

Behind their simple exterior, FRD’s breakers hide many years’ experience, careful learning and intelligent design. There are hundreds of reasons to let FRD’s products do your work.

Benefits:

  • High power/weight ratio – the use of high-quality materials and the highest-quality production processes results in a hammer body with less weight, yet higher output/performance.
  • Minimum moving parts – the fewer moving parts, the less parts will wear. This reduces maintenance costs and downtime.
  • Adjustable valve – the breaker can be adjusted to any specification of the carrying excavator and to each required optimal working condition.
  • High reliability – the use of the best-quality materials and the highest-quality standards in production securely creates a product which will work longer and is more efficient.
  • Low maintenance – high-quality materials give a longer lifetime to each part, drastically reducing the total maintenance cost.
  • Lowest lifetime cost – over long periods, the advantages of less downtime and fewer parts to replace result in a cost per year which is the lowest in the market.

How to make demolition work harder for your pocket

The RM 80 in action

With the demand on local authorities to save money and increase their recycling agenda, many demolition companies are seeing an increase in the amount of work being pushed their way. But how do they ensure that the methods they’re using are the quickest and most cost effective?

In 2006 Paul Rouget Plant Hire, based on the island of Guernsey, found themselves in this situation with an increased Council project meaning they had more rubble to crush and dispose of. At this time, all of the material was being sent to landfill, incurring a charge and eating into their profits.

Through a third party they heard about the RUBBLE MASTER; these machines are used in the recycling of waste material such as tarmac and paving stones and enables users to crush material and re-use the end product.

Debbie Rouget comments: “We were put in touch with Haulmark Equipment in 2006 as sole UK suppliers of the RUBBLE MASTER equipment and we haven’t looked back since. Starting off with an RM60 we used the equipment to crush bricks and rubble from a demolition site.

“As our projects grew larger we upgraded to a larger capacity model and in May 2008 we purchased a used RUBBLE MASTER RM70 GO!. In December 2010 we took delivery of a brand new RM80 GO! – the first machine of its type to hit the British Isles!

“Haulmark Equipment took us to Austria to see the machine being built and once it was delivered to us, the customer service we received from them was as always, second-to-none. And, as the RM80 GO! has crawler gear it’s really easy for us to move it around the island and indeed around sites.

“We would recommend any RUBBLE MASTER equipment to demolition companies out there – the cost savings are fantastic as prior to 2006, we would have sent everything to landfill. Now we recycle waste, produce an end product then sell it back to local builders or re-use the material for our own use.”

The RM80 GO! fully meets the requirements of cost-conscious building and demolition contractors. Its high continuous throughput of up to 160 tons per hour is due to the compact crusher's excellent intake behaviour and optimum crusher kinematics.

It is flexible regarding the material it processes - in recycling mode the magnetic separator reliably removes reinforcing steel from the crushed material. Only one person is required to operate and manoeuvre the RM80 GO! using remote control. Even the unique release system to remove blockages works at the press of a button.

The RUBBLE MASTER RM70 GO! helps the City and County of Swansea save £3.5m!

Rubble Master RM70 GO! from Haulmark

The City and County of Swansea had to try and find a way to reduce costs with highway maintenance whilst still providing a high level of service. Conscious of environmental issues, the main vision was a continuation of their recycling policy in minimising highway waste to landfill by recycling the waste into aggregates for use in highway and construction works, whilst reducing the need for the purchasing of new quarried material.

The answer – The RUBBLE MASTER.
